I write to you to open up my heart and share with you what God has been doing in my life and where He is now taking me.
In the last four years I believe God has led me through a process of dying to myself – emotionally, physically, ideas of spirituality, and my ministry. Even now God is faithfully guiding me through this process! I believe the next step is to go to IHOP (International House of Prayer) Mission Base in Kansas City, MO for a month and then to Seoul, South Korea with YWAM (Youth with a Mission) for one year.
The vision God gave me for my time at IHOP is out of Psalm 84:10. The vision is to be a “doorkeeper”; to be one who selflessly waits even at the cost of possibly not “entering” into the house. I believe God wants me to go to IHOP with an attitude that is not about what I can get out of it, but to purely satisfy His heart. I am committed to spend everyday in their prayer room for the entire month.
After my time in Kansas City, I will prepare to go to Seoul, South Korea. Two months ago, a friend from YWAM shared with me the spiritual landscape of the youth and young adults in Korea today. Immediately, a picture appeared in my mind. I saw a college student receiving prayer in the middle of a campus. He received physical healing and realized the overwhelming love of God for him. He felt such a release from the pains and burdens he was carrying that he dropped to his knees crying out in joy, praise and repentance to Jesus!
Taking this vision as confirmation, I contacted the lead director of YWAM International Ministry and he has warmly welcomed me to come work with him! I will be partnering with them to strategize how to implement power evangelism and 24-7 prayer/worship at Seoul University.
I believe that my time in Korea will be a culmination of three specific burdens God has placed on my heart:
• To contend for the highest level of intimacy with God, and selfless unconditional love to mark my life and the life of the Body of Christ.
• Establish 24-7 prayer and worship on every campus, church, and city to pave the way for the Kingdom of God to advance in power.
• Preach the Gospel! Preach and share publicly the Good News of Jesus by testifying to His goodness and through God’s miracles, signs and wonders.
Thank you for taking the time to read this letter and more importantly, for your friendship and support! I pray God will bless you, your family and respective ministries. I know that together we can contend and see God’s kingdom advance in our time as in no other time in history.
With sincere gratitude,
Jimmy Lee
